Toshiba has released in the Japanese market a new device for reading electronic books, which was called BookPlace Mono.

It is equipped with a 6-inch touchscreen E-ink, it has a resolution of 1024x768 pixels, a built-in memory of 4 GB. The gadget supports the wireless Wi-Fi, a slot for microSD, built-in speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack. The unit also features text-to-speech, based on the technology Toshiba Speech Synthesis.

Toshiba BookPlace Mono will be available in Japan on 16 April, and its price will be 13,900 yen (about $ 145).
