Along with the announcement of the smartphone Sony Xperia ZR the company also unveiled a prototype 13.3-inch tablet equipped with a screen e-Ink, which is controlled with a special stylus.

Sony is positioning this gadget as a substitute for lecture notes and textbooks for students. 13.3-inch screen of the device corresponds to a standard sheet of A4 size and has a resolution 1200h4600 pixels.

Device has 4 GB of internal flash memory and a slot for microSD.

The touch screen works on the basis of electromagnetic induction and works with complete stylus. The thickness of the gadget is just 6.8 mm and weighs 385 g device supports wireless technology Wi-Fi.

The device will be "field" tests in three Japanese universities, so that the characteristics of the final version may change.
