AMD Unveils New G-Series processors for embedded systems

The company AMD introduced today the "AMD G-Series processors" are the next generation of processors to have low power consumption.

The chips have a hybrid configuration: they combine two or four processing cores and a graphics controller Jaguar generation Radeon HD 8000 with support for DirectX 11 API. According to the manufacturer, compared with the products of the previous G-Series new generation processors provide performance gains up to 113%.

With a frequency varies from 1.0 to 2.0 GHz, the maximum heat dissipation (TDP) - 9 to 25 watts. Frequency of integrated graphics, depending on the model, up to 300-600 MHz. In addition, the family got a chip (GX-416RA) without an integrated graphics core.

G-Series processors are designed for use in embedded systems: set-top boxes, thin clients, gaming machines, "smart" televisions, various electronic terminals, etc. Deliveries of the new G-Series products have already begun, and their price - from 49 to 72 dollars .
