WD starts shipping 2.5-inch hard drive, 5 mm thick
Western Digital Corp. today announced the availability of the world's first hard drive in the form of 2.5 inches with 5-mm thickness shell.

WD Blue UltraSlim hard drives can hold 500 GB of data. They are the first to use a new type of compact SFF-8784 connectors: These connectors provide power and data transfer between the controller and the SATA drive.
